How Does a Helical Static Mixer Work?

The first helical element rotates the flow in one direction, while the subsequent feature reverses the flow direction. This process creates an additional mixing effect that enhances product homogeneity.

The flow is forced to be completely reversed, continuously moving toward the center of the inner pipe wall and repeatedly back to the center.

Due to its very smooth shape, excellent surface quality (Ra 0.6 – 0.8), and continuous structure, there are no dead spots in the mixer where any product can stagnate or be disrupted.

The helical mixer, with extremely tight tolerances and perfect fit, prevents dead spots for product accumulation.

DKS® Static Mixers are customized sequential mixers. Static pipe-shaped mixers can be dimensioned for almost all volume flows, densities, viscosities, and substance-specific properties.
