Homogenizers
Innovative Ideas for Dispersion
The dispersion process finds applications in various technical fields and is fundamentally based on chemical and physical changes. The mixing process in the process industry is continually evolving and changing based on current knowledge. Initiatives such as chemistry, food, pharmaceuticals, mining, paint, cosmetics, and more require mixing devices. Due to the diversity of natural substances, mixing systems are designed in various ways.
Chemical mixtures, which we can categorize as homogeneous and heterogeneous, result from two or more substances coming together without losing their chemical properties. While many of these mixtures cannot be obtained using ordinary techniques, there are cases where special techniques are required. Homogenizers are, therefore, widely used on a large scale in various industries, ranging from food and cosmetics to pharmaceutical, chemical, and mining.
The dispersion process is the process of reducing solid particles or droplets to microstructures with a homogenizer. At this micro size, it is the process of binding these micro sizes to each other in a homogeneous manner with powder particles. Turbodisp offers a significant modernization by combining steps such as dusting and lossless unloading of big bags, proportional feeding (dosage) of powders, and achieving completely lump-free results through wetting in a single system for this process. Additionally, production time and costs are minimized (up to 50% energy savings), and partial process steps are entirely avoided. With the new generation rotor system not only delivers the powder into the liquid but also ensures homogeneous distribution in the liquid by compressing it under high pressure inside the cell. As a result, lump-free products, improved reactivity, increased raw material efficiency, and product quality enhancement are achieved.
Such systems are based on the principle of sequential dispersion. The Rotor-Stator system distributes the liquid by compressing it within the cell with the kinetic energy generated by the high-speed movement of the fluid. The distributing cell, which flows towards the tank with a high flow rate, creates a significant induction vacuum. This vacuum allows the powder to be wetted directly in the liquid from any possible powder-feeding container without contamination or loss. Induction can be done directly from paper bags, powder hoppers, containers, Big-Bags, or silos. After homogeneous powder induction, the product is compressed and circulated within the cell, producing the final product quickly.
The liquid dispersion leads to a significant expansion of the liquid surface area used for the wetting process. The vacuum causes the air present in the powder to expand several times its original size. The distance between powder particles increases proportionally to facilitate penetration and enhance the wetting capacity of the liquid. Even for sticky or rapidly swelling powders, it can be applied without any issues to wet the powder effectively.
As explained above, Derya Krom Sanayi’s TURBODISP homogenizer offers advanced technology for in-line high-speed mixing to shorten the dispersion process and distribute powders more homogeneously. The specially designed helical rotor/stator system allows for the homogenization of high-viscosity fluids without needing an intermediate pump, offering the opportunity for powder loading. The helical forms in the rotor structure make the liquid three times more homogeneous, leading to energy and time savings. Maximum compression within the cell at high speed ensures zero lump formation and high levels of homogenization. The TURBODISP series homogenizers, catering to various industries, can reduce costs in liquid-powder, liquid-liquid, and liquid-gas mixtures.
We, as Derya Krom, have embraced the words of our founder, Aydın Kalaycı, who said, ‘All the products we make are our customers’ jewels.’ We have blended his experience of over 30 years with modern technology to create our new jewel, TURBODISP.
Our main goal with Turbodisp at Derya Krom is to save time and energy, improve quality, and make loading harmful dust, liquid, or gases into the system easier.
TURBODISP’s helical rotor system is designed and manufactured entirely with domestic capital, and we offer our innovative ideas in the field of in-line high dispersion.
